MSRTC Adds 5,743 Buses for Ganpati Travel Rush
Many people travel to their hometowns before the Ganpati festival.
To help them, MSRTC is adding 5,743 special bus services.
These buses will run from September 10 to 13.
Thane will have the most buses, followed by Mumbai.
Friday and Saturday are expected to be the busiest travel days.
Most buses will be regular buses, while some will have special 3-by-2 seating.
MSRTC has placed extra staff at bus stations and repair teams along major roads.
Women and senior citizens can receive fare discounts through group bookings.
Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on September 14.
MSRTC will run 5,743 special bus services from September 10 to 13 ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Thane will operate the most services at 2,951, followed by Mumbai with 1,917.
The busiest days are Friday, with 3,028 services, and Saturday, with 2,425.
The buses will connect Mumbai, Thane and Palghar with Konkan and other parts of Maharashtra.
MSRTC has also deployed staff, repair teams and concessions to manage the festival travel rush.
