Palwal Tiranga Yatra Sets Two Golden Book Of World Records
India will soon celebrate its 80th Independence Day, and people in a city called Palwal in Haryana wanted to do something very special to show their love for their country.
They made a huge Indian flag that was five kilometres long and ten feet wide.
Since five kilometres is very long, it takes a really long time to walk from one end of the flag to the other.
Thousands of people, including children, grandparents, women and senior citizens, walked together while carrying this giant flag.
The streets of Palwal looked like a sea of saffron, white and green, which are the colours of India's flag.
So many people joined that the march earned two entries in the Golden Book of World Records.
One record was for the longest mass march with a flag, and the other was for the most people holding a national flag.
The event took place right before Independence Day and matched a government campaign called 'Har Ghar Tiranga', which asks everyone to proudly display the flag at home.
It was a big, happy way for people to remember India's freedom movement and feel proud together.
