Massive Tiranga Yatra lights up Hyderabad ahead of Independence Day
In Hyderabad, many thousands of people came together to celebrate India's Independence Day by carrying the national flag in a big walk called the Tiranga Yatra.
They walked along a beautiful road called Tank Bund, which was decorated in the flag's colors of saffron, white and green.
The walk happened on August 14, the day before India's 80th Independence Day.
Important leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party, like ministers and other officials, joined the walk with the people.
The walk started with prayers at a temple called Sri Kanakadurga Ammavari Temple in Basheerbagh.
The flag was carried from a statue of B R Ambedkar to a statue of Swami Vivekananda.
The leaders asked everyone to put up the national flag at their homes and to respect it.
They also told people to stay united and love their country no matter their differences.
Tens of thousands of people joined a massive Tiranga Yatra along Tank Bund in Hyderabad on August 14, a day ahead of the 80th Independence Day.
The event was organised by the BJP Telangana and began with special prayers at the Sri Kanakadurga Ammavari Temple in Basheerbagh.
It was led by BJP Telangana State president N Ramchandra Rao, with Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar among the participants.
Participants carried the national flag from the statue of B R Ambedkar to the statue of Swami Vivekananda.
Leaders urged people to hoist the tricolour under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and called for patriotism, sacrifice and national unity.
Speakers, including K Laxman, called for rising above caste, religion and regional differences, while Bandaru Dattatreya and Etala Rajender stressed protecting national integrity.
