Jaishankar shares selfie with Tiranga under Har Ghar Tiranga campaign

India has a special day coming up called Independence Day, when the country celebrates becoming free from British rule in 1947.

This year, India will celebrate its 80th Independence Day on August 15, 2026.

To get everyone excited, the country has a campaign called Har Ghar Tiranga, which means bringing the Tiranga, or Indian flag, into every home.

The campaign asks citizens to take the flag home and celebrate Independence Day with collective pride.

The External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, joined the campaign by taking a selfie with a hoisted flag and sharing it online.

He posted the selfie on a social media site called X with the hashtag #HarGharTiranga.

Another government official, Randhir Jaiswal, also joined and said, 'Tiranga in every heart, every home!'

This year's campaign is special because it celebrates 150 years of Vande Mataram, India's National Song.

People across the country, including officials and organizations, are hoisting the Tricolour and sharing photos online to show their patriotism.
