1,111-Foot Tricolour Carried in Navi Mumbai Independence Day Procession
People in Navi Mumbai, a city in India, celebrated Independence Day in a very special way.
They carried an enormous Indian flag that was 1,111 feet long.
The flag is so long that it would stretch past many tall buildings!
This special walk was called the Tiranga Yatra, which means 'flag journey.'
Around 1,700 people joined in, including students, teachers, and local residents.
They walked about 3.5 kilometers, from a school all the way to a square called Utsav Chowk.
Along the way, everyone shouted happy patriotic slogans like 'Vande Mataram.'
A leader named Payal Kinake told the young people to think about what they can do to help India.
It was a proud and happy day for everyone who took part.
A procession carrying a 1,111-foot national flag was taken out in Navi Mumbai's Kharghar area on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day.
The event, titled Tiranga Yatra, was organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
Around 1,700 citizens, including students, teachers and local residents, participated in the march.
The flag march covered about 3.5 km from Ramsheth Thakur Public School to Utsav Chowk, with patriotic slogans raised along the way.
ABVP national secretary Payal Kinake urged youth to ask 'What will I do for India?', while Panvel MLA Prashant Thakur and Mayor Nitin Patil were also present.
