HYDRAA Begins Restoration of Historic Uta Bowli at Hyderabad Lake
HYDRAA is repairing an old water well called Uta Bowli.
The well is next to Bum-Rukn-ud-Dowla lake in Rajendranagar.
It covers about 1.5 acres and is fed by a spring.
Over time, rubbish, mud and plants filled much of the well.
This made it harder for the well to hold water.
Workers are removing the waste and silt.
The lake nearby was also cleaned and restored after encroachments were removed.
The Chief Minister ordered the well’s restoration after the lake was reopened.
