HYDRAA Restores Uppal Lake, Expands Public and Flood Protection

HYDRAA Restores Uppal Lake, Expands Public and Flood Protection
HYDRAA breathes new life into Uppal lake · thehansindia.com

Uppal lake in Hyderabad had become much smaller because buildings and other structures had taken over parts of it.

HYDRAA removed the encroachments and expanded the lake to 67.31 acres.

Workers built a path around the lake for walking and added places to sit and relax.

New water channels will help rainwater enter the lake.

Other channels will help stop nearby homes from flooding when the lake is full.

The lake is being made both a useful water body and a public park.

Three more restored lakes are expected to open by the end of the month.

Officials are also improving other lakes and checking how they can hold more water.
