A very large crane fell in Kurla, Mumbai, early on Friday.

It landed on homes, other buildings, a road and some vehicles.

Ten people were reported injured, including a three-month-old baby.

The injured people were taken to Sion Hospital and Kurla Bhabha Hospital, and the BMC said they were stable.

Police, firefighters and other emergency workers came to help.

The crane was being placed for demolition work when it tipped over.

MMRDA said the soft, muddy ground may have made it unstable.

The crane also touched electrical equipment beside a railway line used mainly by goods trains.

Passenger trains continued to run normally while railway workers assessed and repaired the damage.

Officials are still investigating what exactly caused the collapse.
