Odisha is checking its voter list through a process called a Special Intensive Revision.

The deadline for people to make claims or raise objections ended on August 19.

Officials sent notices to more than 58 lakh voters.

They said more than 3.09 crore voters have so far been considered eligible for the final list.

Some people also applied to register as new voters or correct their details.

Officials said people who do not provide valid documents may be removed from the list.

The final decisions are expected by September 17, and the final voter list is planned for September 21.

The BJD wants more time because floods have made verification difficult.
