Telangana CEO Releases Draft Electoral Roll for Voter Verification
The election office in Telangana is getting ready to share a draft list of people who can vote.
The Chief Electoral Officer released this list on Monday.
Some names on the list may have mistakes, like wrong ages or names.
About 92 lakh people might get letters asking them to fix these mistakes.
Names of people who moved away, passed away, or are listed twice will not be on the draft list.
People who do not see their names can ask to be added.
They can file claims until September 16.
Officials will finish checking all requests by October 15.
The final voting list will be published on October 19.
This helps make sure the voting list is correct and fair.
Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudarshan Reddy released the draft electoral roll on Monday as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
The Election Commission of India will issue notices to 92 lakh voters from Tuesday, with anomalies found in the details of about 60 lakh voters.
Names of about 73.39 lakh voters in the absent, shifted, dead and duplicate (ASDD) category are not published in the draft roll.
The claims and objections period runs until September 16, with disposal concluding on October 15 and the final roll published on October 19.
Over 49,000 booth level agents from recognised political parties across Telangana can file claims, including 25,160 in Hyderabad district.
