Andhra Pradesh is building many solar power plants for farms.

The projects are part of a national scheme called PM-KUSUM.

In total, the state plans to use 1,162.8 megawatts of solar capacity across 228 plants.

The electricity will help provide farmers with reliable power during the daytime.

Officials want another 109.7 megawatts to be ready in September and October.

Land has already been acquired for all the planned plants.

One 3-megawatt plant in Palnadu began operating on August 27.

Officials are asking companies to finish the remaining work on time so the state can receive financial support and increase clean-energy use.
