Hisense Enters India's Washing Machine Market with 42 SKUs
Hisense is a very big company that makes televisions and air conditioners.
It sells products in more than 160 countries around the world.
Now Hisense is starting to sell washing machines in India.
The new washing machines come in different sizes, from 7.5 kilograms to 14 kilograms.
Some are top-load machines, where you put the clothes in from the top.
The machines will arrive in shops slowly, in phases, from July to September.
Every machine comes with a promise that its motor will be repaired or replaced for free for 10 years.
Hisense will build many of the machines in India with partner factories.
The company hopes washing machines will become a big part of its India business over the next year.
Later, it also wants to sell refrigerators, kitchen appliances and other home gadgets.
Hisense has entered India's laundry segment with top-load and semi-automatic washing machines ranging from 7.5kg to 14kg.
The company is launching 42 SKUs in phases between July and September, with a 10-year warranty on motors.
Front-load machines will be manufactured with EPACK in Sri City, while Dixon Technologies will produce top-load and semi-automatic models.
Hisense expects washing machines to contribute about 10 per cent of its India revenue this year, rising to 20-25 per cent next year.
