Tata Power Launches ₹5,350-Crore Renewable Projects in Rayalaseema
Andhra Pradesh’s Education Minister Nara Lokesh will put a big stone in a new project that will make clean energy.
Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd is building a wind farm and a solar farm that together can make 800 megawatts of electricity.
The wind farm will be in Kanekal and the solar farm in Pattikonda.
The wind farm will cost about ₹3,500 crore and the solar farm about ₹2,250 crore.
While the plants are built, about 4,000 people will get jobs.
The electricity will help big factories and homes use clean power.
The projects will also give farmers a steady income.
They are part of Andhra Pradesh’s plan to have 160 gigawatts of clean energy by 2024.
Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh will lay foundation for Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd's ₹5,350-crore projects in Pattikonda on Thursday.
The projects combine 800 MW capacity: 400 MW wind at Kanekal (Anantapur) and 400 MW solar at Pattikonda (Kurnool).
Solar project covers 2,700 acres with ₹2,250 cr investment; wind project covers 760 acres with ₹3,500 cr investment.
Construction is expected to create about 4,000 jobs and benefit over 1,100 farming families with stable income.
Projects are linked to 800 MW inter‑state transmission via Anantapur‑II and Kurnool‑4 CTUIL substations, supporting Andhra Pradesh’s 160 GW clean‑energy goal.
