Four Killed in Meghalaya Gunfight Over NHIDCL Kidnapping Plot
Police in Meghalaya said they stopped a vehicle early Sunday morning.
They believed the people inside were planning to kidnap highway officials for ransom.
The people in the vehicle allegedly fired first at the police.
The police then fired back, saying they were defending themselves.
Four men in the vehicle were badly wounded.
Doctors later declared all four dead at a hospital.
Police found two pistols and ammunition at the scene.
