Roads Around Red Fort Closed for Delhi's Independence Day Rehearsal
Every year, India celebrates its Independence Day on August 15.
The big celebration happens at a famous fort in Delhi called the Red Fort.
Before the real day, the police hold a practice event called a full-dress rehearsal.
On August 13, many roads near the Red Fort will be closed so the rehearsal can happen safely.
Cars, buses, and trucks will have to use different routes.
Only vehicles with special labels may drive near the fort during that time.
People going to work or school should leave early and plan extra travel time.
The police are also asking people not to bring things like cameras, umbrellas, and water bottles.
Everything should go back to normal after 11 am.
Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory closing roads around the Red Fort on August 13 for the full-dress rehearsal of Independence Day celebrations.
Roads around the Red Fort will be closed to general traffic from 4 am to 10 am, with only vehicles carrying valid rehearsal labels permitted.
Affected stretches include Netaji Subhash Marg, Lothian Road, S P Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk Road and Ring Road between Rajghat and ISBT.
Goods vehicles will be restricted between Nizamuddin Khatta and Wazirabad Bridge, and interstate buses between Maharana Pratap ISBT and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT, from midnight until 11 am.
The public is advised not to carry cameras, binoculars, umbrellas and similar items, and normal bus services are expected to resume after 11 am.
