Telangana Swimmer Varshith Wins Junior Nationals Bronze
Telangana swimmer Dhulipudi Varshith won a bronze medal at the junior national championships.
He finished the boys’ 200-metre event in 2 minutes and 10.97 seconds.
Mongam Theerdhu Samadev won gold, and Daniel Paul J won silver.
Another swimmer, Pavani Sarayu Nadakuditi, won bronze in the girls’ 200-metre medley.
Yagna Sai Mongam also won bronze in the boys’ 1500-metre freestyle.
The competition is taking place in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Varshith trains at Zionsportz Swimming Academy in Hyderabad.
He previously won medals in the 400-metre individual medley in 2024 and 2025.
One report calls Varshith’s event the 200-metre butterfly, although its results table and another report identify it as the 200-metre medley.

Varshith recorded 2:10.97, finishing behind gold medalist Mongam Theerdhu Samadev and silver medalist Daniel Paul J.
Pavani Sarayu Nadakuditi of Andhra Pradesh won bronze in the girls’ 200-metre medley with a time of 2:30.68.
Yagna Sai Mongam of Andhra Pradesh took bronze in the boys’ 1500-metre freestyle in 16:56.51.
The championship is being held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from August 18 to 23, 2026.
