Telangana swimmers shine at Sub-Junior National Aquatic Championships
Young swimmers from a state in India called Telangana went to a big swimming competition in the city of Jaipur.
Many kids from different parts of India took part in the race.
One boy named Aarush Das swam the backstroke, which means swimming on your back.
He swam very fast and finished third, winning a bronze medal.
It was his very first national medal, which is a great achievement.
A girl named Shivani Karra also did very well.
She swam the 100-meter freestyle race and finished second, winning a silver medal.
Their coach helped them train and get ready for the competition.
The swimmers from Telangana made their home state proud.
Telangana swimmers won two medals at the 42nd Sub-Junior National Aquatic Championships held in Jaipur from August 6 to 9, 2026.
Aarush Das claimed bronze in the Boys' 50m Backstroke Final with a time of 29.44 seconds, his first national-level medal.
Shivani Karra secured silver in the Women's 100m Freestyle, clocking 1:01.28 seconds.
Dhivashree Kesavan of Tamil Nadu won gold in the Women's 100m Freestyle in 1:00.23 seconds, while Indraany M. Menon of Kerala took bronze.
Krishiv Doshi of Madhya Pradesh and Shlok Sunil Jadhav of Karnataka finished first and second respectively in the Boys' 50m Backstroke.
The event was organised by the Rajasthan Swimming Association under the aegis of the Swimming Federation of India.
