MSRTC Extends Old Concession System Amid NCMC Server Issues
MSRTC gives travel discounts to some senior citizens and women.
It recently required these passengers to use NCMC cards for the discounts.
The card system has had technical problems because many people are using it.
So, MSRTC is temporarily allowing the older ticket method again.
This temporary arrangement will continue until September 30, 2026.
People with working NCMC cards still have to use those cards.
If a card cannot be read, a conductor can issue a ticket using the older method.
MSRTC told depots and staff across Maharashtra about the change.
MSRTC will allow senior citizens and women to use the earlier concession-ticket system until September 30, 2026.
The temporary measure follows technical difficulties caused by increased load on the NCMC card system.
Passengers with active NCMC cards must generally use them to obtain concession tickets.
Conductors may use the earlier system when an active card cannot be read or a technical problem blocks ticket issuance.
