Karnal canter hits high-voltage line, kills rescuer, injures 20 pilgrims

A group of people was traveling in a big truck called a canter to visit a holy place called Gogamedi.

There were more than 50 people on the truck.

Late one night, the truck touched a very powerful electric wire hanging above the road.

This happened in a town called Gharaunda in Haryana, India.

The electrical shock hurt more than 20 people on the truck.

A kind man who lived nearby heard the people crying for help and ran to help them.

Sadly, he got a very bad electric shock and passed away.

The hurt people were taken to government hospitals in Karnal and Panipat.

Some of them had irregular heartbeats, low blood pressure and body pain.

The accident happened because a metal pipe on top of the truck touched the electric wire.
