Man Dies After Flagpole Hits High-Tension Line in Uttar Pradesh
In a village called Bhikharipur in Uttar Pradesh, people were celebrating Independence Day on a Saturday evening.
After the ceremony, they began lowering the big flag that was attached to a tall metal pole.
While they were doing this, the metal pole accidentally touched a very powerful electric wire overhead.
The electricity traveled down the pole, making it extremely dangerous.
Two young men, Rakesh Yadav and Durgesh, touched the pole and got badly burned by the electricity.
Their family and other villagers quickly rushed them to the district hospital.
Sadly, Rakesh Yadav died from his injuries.
Durgesh is still in the hospital getting treatment.
The police sent the body for a medical examination and are looking into what happened.
