Modi To Dedicate Three Western Freight Corridor Sections At JNPA
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to open three parts of a special railway for carrying goods.
The ceremony will happen at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority on September 8, 2026.
This railway, called the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, runs between Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
It passes through five states and connects factories, logistics centres and ports.
Special freight tracks let goods trains travel with fewer interruptions from passenger trains.
The Western and Eastern corridors together cover about 2,843 kilometres.
The government says these routes can make shipping goods faster and more reliable.
Another freight corridor has also been proposed between West Bengal and Gujarat.
