Modi at IIT Delhi Convocation Calls for More Women Medalists

The leader of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, went to a big school celebration at IIT Delhi.

It was the day when students who did really well in their studies got medals.

First, PM Modi said congratulations to all the students who received medals for their work.

Then he noticed that very few of the medal winners were girls.

He said it would have been better if one or two of the winners had been daughters.

Then he quickly corrected himself and said, 'Why just one or two?'

He said there should have been many more girls among the medal winners.

He told the students they are not merely receiving degrees, but leaving with dreams of doing a lot for the country.

His message was that girls should be celebrated for their achievements too.
