NGT Seeks Environmental Details From Telangana Over Musi Project
NGT notice to Telangana govt over Musi project · thehansindia.com

The Musi Rejuvenation project is a plan involving the Musi river area in Telangana.

Some retired engineers complained that the project’s environmental approvals were not properly assessed.

They said the government studied only 20 kilometres even though the catchment area is 55 kilometres long.

They also worried that Mrugavani National Park could be affected.

The engineers objected to large construction projects near two reservoirs, Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar.

The National Green Tribunal is now asking the Telangana government for more information.

The tribunal wants details about environmental clearances and how the project will be carried out.

The next hearing is scheduled for October 16.
