Andhra Pradesh Teachers Begin Finland Training Under Education Reforms
Twenty-nine award-winning teachers from Andhra Pradesh are learning about education in Finland.
Their training is part of the state government’s education reforms.
Finnish experts first gave them an orientation in Vijayawada.
The teachers are now visiting schools and observing classes in Turku and Rauma.
They are learning how to design useful classroom projects and make lessons more collaborative.
They are also studying ways to build reading and language skills through stories, drama, games and books.
After returning, they will receive online guidance from University of Turku professors.
They will share what they learn with other teachers and help improve children’s learning and well-being.
Twenty-nine Andhra Pradesh State Best Teacher awardees began an international training programme at the University of Turku in Finland.
The programme’s second phase runs from August 17 to 26 and includes school visits, classroom observations and discussions with Finnish educators.
Teachers received training on measurable classroom projects and collaborated on lesson plans at Yläne Comprehensive School in Pöytyä.
They explored using stories, poems, picture books, drama and play-based activities to improve reading and language skills.
Three online mentoring sessions will follow, while trained teachers will become master trainers and mentors in Andhra Pradesh.
