A woman in Pune said her husband and his family hurt and pressured her.

She said they believed her husband had a problem called ‘Mangal dosh.’

The family allegedly took her to a self-styled godman for advice.

She said she was made to drink water mixed with sacred ash.

She also said she was forced to take part in a private ritual involving her husband.

Afterward, she alleged that her husband would not take her back home.

She further accused the family of abuse, assault and cheating her relatives financially.

Police have registered a case against five people, but the allegations still need to be investigated and proved through legal proceedings.
