Maharashtra FDA Suspends Licences of Four Domino's Pizza Outlets
Food safety inspectors make sure restaurants keep food clean and safe to eat.
Recently, inspectors in Maharashtra found problems at four Domino's Pizza shops.
Because of these problems, the shops were told to stop serving food for a while.
The inspectors found things like dirty storage areas and problems with pest control.
In some shops, food was not kept at the right temperature and raw and cooked items were not separated.
Some stores also did not keep proper records or display the right licences.
Domino's is one of the world's biggest pizza brands.
These four shops are run by a company called Jubilant FoodWorks.
The government food department has also checked many other restaurants and stores.
It wants everyone to be able to eat food that is safe and clean.
Maharashtra's FDA suspended the licences of four Domino's Pizza outlets over food safety and hygiene violations.
The suspended outlets, operated by Jubilant FoodWorks, are in Vile Parle West, Borivali West and R-City Mall in Ghatkopar West (Mumbai) and in Satara.
Inspectors flagged deficiencies in food storage, temperature monitoring, pest control, cleanliness and hygiene facilities at the outlets.
The Ghatkopar West outlet was cited for failing to follow FIFO and FEFO practices and for missing food-grade certificates and records.
The action is part of a wider FDA crackdown that has led to 165 licence suspensions and 764 improvement notices after inspections of 3,137 food establishments in Mumbai between May 25 and July 31.
