Telangana committed to tribal progress with ₹18,745 crore fund
Every year on August 9, many people around the world celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day.
It is a day to honor people whose families have lived in a place for a very long time.
In Hyderabad, India, the state of Telangana held a big event for this day.
A minister named Adluri Laxman Kumar spoke at the event.
He said the government will spend a lot of money — about 18,745 crore rupees — to help tribal communities.
The money will be used for things like schools, roads, clean drinking water, and electricity.
He also talked about helping students get into good colleges like IIT and NIT.
The government wants to keep forests safe while helping tribal people too.
They even plan to build science labs with computers and robots.
Many leaders and students were honored at the event.

Over 83,000 students study in 166 tribal residential institutions, with 28 IIT admissions, 23 NIT seats, and 167 NEET qualifiers in 2025-26.
The state announced plans for AI-based STEM labs and digital skill development, along with value addition for forest produce through tribal youth and women processing groups.
Telangana ranked third nationally in PM-JANMAN implementation, and the Ramji Gond Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum is under construction in Hyderabad.
