Daughter’s Body Recovered From Godavari; Mother Remains Missing
A family went near the Godavari River on Sunday night.
Police said the mother allegedly jumped into the river first.
The father, his daughter and his grandson then entered the water.
The grandson could swim and was rescued by fishermen.
The father’s body was found on Monday.
The daughter’s body was found on Thursday.
Police are still searching for the mother.
Investigators are also examining allegations against Shaik Sadiq Khan in connection with the family’s deaths.
K Soujanya’s body was recovered from the Godavari River near Kothapeta in a partially decomposed condition.
Her father, Panchayat Raj Assistant Engineer G Nookaraju, was also found dead after the family entered the river near a road-cum-rail bridge.
Police are continuing searches for Nookaraju’s wife, Meena, whose body has not been recovered.
Nookaraju’s 10-year-old grandson survived by swimming and was rescued by local fishermen.
Police are investigating allegations against Shaik Sadiq Khan, who was named in alleged suicide notes and faces a separate murder case in Kakinada.
