Bhiwandi Celebrates 80th Independence Day With Flag Hoisting, Civic Announcements
A city in India called Bhiwandi held a big celebration on Saturday.
The celebration was for the 80th Independence Day of the country, a special day when the nation became free.
Many people joined in, like the mayor, police officers, teachers, students, and other citizens.
They raised the national flag at government offices, schools, and city buildings.
The mayor, Mr. Narayan Ratan Chaudhary, made some exciting announcements.
He said the city will soon get electric buses, which are cheaper and better for the environment.
He also said almost 500 women have been trained with new skills through city programmes.
Students from city schools will go on a trip to New Delhi to see the Parliament and other important buildings.
The mayor asked everyone to keep the city clean and to stay away from bad habits.
At the end, flowers were placed at the statue of Dr. Ambedkar to remember him.

Chaudhary announced that the city would soon receive an electric bus service, described as an affordable and environmentally friendly public transportation option.
The Mayor said nearly 500 women had received skill-based training under municipal programmes and announced an educational tour to New Delhi for municipal school students.
Mayor Chaudhary and Municipal Commissioner Anmol Sagar paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at his statue within the municipal headquarters premises.
