KDMC Marks 80th Independence Day With Tiranga Rally And Tributes
India just celebrated its 80th Independence Day, and a city called Kalyan-Dombivli had a big party.
The city government, called KDMC, planned many events.
The Mayor, Harshali Chaudhary, raised the Indian flag at the city office.
Another leader, Rahul Damle, raised the flag in an area called Dombivli East.
People gave flowers at memorials to remember brave soldiers, like Captain Vinaykumar Sachan, who died for the country.
A big parade called the Tiranga Rally took place too.
Lots of students and citizens walked together while carrying the Indian flag.
They shouted patriotic slogans to spread a message of unity.
At the end, everyone watched a huge 150-foot-tall Indian flag being raised.
Leaders like MP Shrikant Shinde made speeches about freedom, unity and national pride.
The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation celebrated India's 80th Independence Day with flag hoisting, tributes and patriotic programmes across the twin cities.
Mayor Harshali Vijay Chaudhary unfurled the National Flag at the KDMC headquarters, attended by Commissioner Abhinav Goel, IAS, and other officials.
Deputy Mayor Rahul Damle hoisted the National Flag at the old Dombivli Divisional Office in Dombivli East.
Floral tributes were paid at the memorials of Captain Vinaykumar Sachan and the Prerna War Memorial, with MP Dr Shrikant Shinde among dignitaries offering homage.
A grand Tiranga Rally organised by the Dr Shrikant Shinde Foundation concluded at Dattanagar Chowk, where a 150-foot-tall National Flag was ceremonially unfurled.
