Gujarat Prison Institute Expands Sports Facilities Ahead of Major Events
A prison training institute in Ahmedabad is building better sports grounds and classrooms.
The institute is called the Gujarat Institute of Prisons and Correctional Administration.
Officials hope the facilities will help prepare for possible Olympics and Commonwealth Games events in the city.

Modern sports grounds are being developed at the Gujarat Institute of Prisons and Correctional Administration in Ahmedabad.
Phase-I modernisation by the Police Housing Corporation includes smart classrooms, computer laboratories, libraries and other training infrastructure.
The facilities will support training for prison department employees from Jail Assistants to Deputy Superintendents.
Officials said sports can promote physical fitness, team spirit and discipline among trainees.
Gujarat prison department wrestlers won 14 medals and the Champion Trophy at the 2026-27 DGP Cup competition involving 22 teams.
