Andhra Pradesh Launches Rs 25,000 Aid for Handloom Weavers
Andhra Pradesh is giving money to people who make hand‑made cloth.
Every year, each weaver who qualifies will get 25,000 rupees.
They have to send in their paperwork by August 5, and the money will start on August 7.
The state also gives old weavers a pension, free electricity for their looms, and small loans.
The handloom minister announced it, and the chief minister will be there to start the program.
Andhra Pradesh will give Rs 25,000 annually to eligible handloom weavers starting Aug 7 under the Nethanna Sevalo scheme.
Applications must be submitted by 5 pm on Aug 5, with the launch coinciding with National Handloom Day celebrations in Chirala.
The scheme is part of broader welfare measures, including NTR Bharosa pensions for weavers over 50, free electricity for traditional and powerloom weavers, and Mudra loans.
Handlooms and Textiles Minister S Savitha announced the scheme, noting it was not part of the NDA coalition’s election promises.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will attend the launch, and celebrations will be organized across district headquarters.
