PTI Lawmakers Ride Donkey Carts to Protest Pakistan Fuel Hike
PTI lawmakers in Sindh used donkey carts to protest higher fuel prices.
They traveled to the Sindh Assembly while carrying signs and shouting slogans.
Sajjad Ali Soomro led the protest.
He said fuel had become too expensive for lawmakers to use their cars.
The protesters called the price increase a “petrol bomb” on ordinary people.
They asked the federal government to cancel the increase.
Petrol now costs Rs390.79 per litre, while diesel costs Rs424.92.
The Sindh Assembly has also asked for lower fuel costs and an end to daily price increases.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawmakers rode donkey carts to the Sindh Assembly on Friday, September 18.
Led by Sajjad Ali Soomro, the protesters carried placards and chanted slogans against the federal government.
The lawmakers demanded that the federal government withdraw the petroleum price increase.
Petrol was priced at Rs390.79 per litre and high-speed diesel at Rs424.92 per litre after the latest adjustment.
The Sindh Assembly has also called for an end to daily increases, abolition of the petroleum levy, and consumer relief.
