The Delhi government has started a special program called the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana to help women who do not have much money.

Many women have already signed up — about 5.92 lakh in just 10 days.

The government wants to help 17 lakh women in total.

Women who qualify live in Delhi and must show proof they have lived there for 10 years.

They need documents like their Aadhaar card, a voter ID card, and a letter from their MLA or MP.

The first payment is planned for 28 August, which is the festival of Raksha Bandhan.

The government checks every application carefully so the money reaches the women who really deserve it.
