Kerala CM announces Land Reforms 2.0 and agriculture policy
The leader of Kerala, a state in India, made a big announcement to help farmers.
He wants to update old land rules so unused farms can grow different crops and welcome visitors.
This is called 'Land Reforms 2.0'.
He also wants to sell Kerala's spices and farm products all over the world under one special name, the 'Kerala Brand'.
To keep animals from eating crops, the government will use smart computers and fences.
Farmers who grow rubber will get more money for it, and help for damaged crops will be bigger.
The leader also said farmers will be paid on time.
He wants to use a new big port to send products to other countries faster and cheaper.
All these plans are meant to be a 'friend' to farmers and make farming better for everyone.
Kerala Chief Minister VD Satheesan announced 'Land Reforms 2.0' at the state-level Farmers' Day celebrations in Kalamassery, Kochi.
The reforms aim to revive closed plantations by permitting multi-cropping and sustainable farm tourism.
All value-added agricultural and spice products processed in the state will be marketed globally under the 'Kerala Brand'.
AI-powered monitoring systems and traditional barriers will be deployed to protect farmlands from wild animal attacks.
Rubber Minimum Support Price will be raised from Rs 250 to Rs 300 per kg, and crop loss assistance has been increased by 25%.
