UP Government Announces OTS Scheme for Property Tax Dues
UP Govt Announces OTS Scheme For Property Tax Dues Across 762 Urban Local Bodies From August 15 · freepressjournal.in

The government of Uttar Pradesh, a large state in India, has made a new plan to help people pay old taxes on their homes and water.

This plan is called the One-Time Settlement Scheme.

Many people in cities owe money for property tax, which includes house tax, water tax and sewer tax.

Under this plan, people can pay what they owe in a simple and practical way.

The plan will work in 762 cities and towns across the state.

It starts on August 15, 2026 and lasts until December 15, 2026.

People do not have to pay everything at once; they can pay in up to three smaller parts.

The first part is due within 30 days, and the rest can be paid over the next two months.

The money collected will be used to fix roads, drainage, drinking water, sanitation and street lights.

This way, cities become financially stronger and taxpayers get relief from old tax debts.
