PaukSe & Palata: Burma Burma Celebrates Burmese Tea Shop Culture
There is a restaurant group in India called Burma Burma, and this August it wants to share the food of Burma's famous tea shops with everyone.
In Burma, which is also called Myanmar, tea shops are warm, busy places where friends and neighbours sit together, chat, and drink lots of tea.
Burma Burma is making a special menu called PaukSe & Palata: Windows to Burma to celebrate those tea shops.
The menu has soft, puffy steamed buns called PaukSe and crispy, flaky flatbreads called Palata.
The flatbreads are served with tasty curries, and some dishes mix in ideas from India and from East Asia.
There are also sweet treats like a cream puff and a banana sundae, plus special pulled teas and a house-made tamarind cola.
The special menu starts on August 1 and ends on August 31, 2026.
People can eat it at Burma Burma restaurants in cities like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Hyderabad.
People can also order the food to their homes using the delivery apps Swiggy and Zomato.
The menu shows how food and friendship can come together around one table, just like in a real Burmese tea shop.
Burma Burma launches 'PaukSe & Palata: Windows to Burma,' a limited-edition menu running from August 1-31, 2026.
The menu features three PaukSe (steamed buns), four Palata (flaky flatbreads) with curries, desserts, Burmese pulled teas and house-made colas.
Palata reflects the culinary influence of South India, while PaukSe reflects Burma's East Asian connections.
The menu is available for dine-in at Burma Burma restaurants in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Hyderabad.
Home delivery is available via Swiggy and Zomato.
