Delhi has introduced a long-term plan for how the city should grow by 2047.

The plan says 30 lakh to 40 lakh new homes could be built.

The Metro network is expected to grow to 695 kilometres.

More buses and six new Regional Rapid Transit System corridors are also planned.

New transport hubs would be built at three major locations.

Some buildings may be allowed to become taller, although several special areas will still have restrictions.

The plan also supports affordable housing and redevelopment of unauthorised colonies.

Officials say these changes are meant to help Delhi manage a larger population and improve living conditions.
