Ongole Municipality Prepares for 150th Anniversary Beautification Drive
Ongole is a city in India that is getting ready for a very special birthday.
It is turning 150 years old as a municipality, which is a kind of local government.
To celebrate, the city is going to get a big makeover.
A government officer called the Collector visited the city to see where improvements should be made.
The plan includes pretty arches at the entrances to the city and statues of important people.
There will also be colorful paintings showing the city's history, more trees and greenery, and art galleries.
A special wall honoring famous people connected to Ongole will be set up too.
Local leaders are helping to prepare the plan, which will be announced within three days.
The government office building called Prakasam Bhavan will also get repairs.
Everyone hopes the celebrations will give Ongole a lovely new look.

Collector and special officer P. Rajababu toured the city on Saturday and inspected sites proposed for beautification and development works.
The plan includes welcome arches at major entry points, statues of prominent personalities, history-themed murals, more greenery, art galleries and a fame wall.
The plan will be prepared in consultation with the Ongole MP and the Ongole and Santhanuthalapadu MLAs and released within three days.
Necessary repairs will also be taken up at Prakasam Bhavan, the district administrative headquarters.
