Prakasam Collector Calls for Grand Independence Day Celebrations
India's Independence Day is on August 15.
A special leader called the district Collector wants everyone to celebrate it in a big way.
He hopes people will feel as happy as they do during festivals like Sankranti and Diwali.
He is asking everyone to put up the Indian national flag at home and near monuments.
People can also take a selfie video with the flag and share it online.
There will be bicycle rallies carrying the Tricolour from August 12 to 15.
On August 14, there will be a big tree-planting day where everyone can plant a sapling.
Homes, offices, and monuments should be lit up with Tricolour lights on August 14 and 15.
He also wants people to say what they will do to help India grow by 2047, through a plan called Viksit Bharat 2047.
Prakasam district Collector P Raja Babu urged the public to celebrate Independence Day on August 15 with the same festive spirit as Sankranti and Diwali.
The district administration has planned five programmes from August 10 to August 15, including flag hoisting, selfie videos, bicycle rallies, a plantation drive, and Tricolour lighting.
Citizens are urged to hoist the national flag and upload selfie videos with it using hashtags such as #PartnerInNationBuilding, #MyIndiaMyVision, and #IndependenceDay2026.
Tiranga bicycle rallies will be held from August 12 to 15, with riders travelling to prominent places in villages, mandals, or the district headquarters to take a collective pledge.
A mass plantation drive is set for August 14, and homes, offices, and monuments are to be illuminated with Tricolour lighting on August 14 and 15.
