Visakhapatnam Steps Up Beautification Ahead of BRICS Youth Meeting
Visakhapatnam will host the BRICS Youth Ministers’ Meeting in 2026.
City officials want the city to look clean and attractive for visitors.
Commissioner Ketan Garg inspected several areas with other officials on Friday.
Workers will repair roads used by delegates.
They will also improve streetlights, wall paintings, plants and greenery.
Fourteen junctions will receive beautification work.
Trees will be trimmed along an important city route.
Cleaning teams will pay special attention to places delegates may visit.
Delegates will also take part in a cycle rally.
GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg inspected beautification works from RK Beach to surrounding areas.
Road patchworks, modern street lighting and wall paintings were ordered along major routes.
Officials will improve greenery at medians, beautify 14 junctions and add plants along SP Camp Office Road.
Tree trimming is planned between Andhra University and Siripuram Junction.
Continuous sanitation was directed at Beach Road, major junctions, Thotlakonda and Visakha Museum ahead of the 2026 meeting.
