Medico Dr Kanike Priyanka dies after alleged drunk-driving hit-and-run
A young doctor named Priyanka was hurt very badly in a road accident late at night.
She was riding a small two-wheeler with a friend when a car hit them.
Police say the people in the car had been drinking alcohol and were driving too fast.
Priyanka was taken to a hospital and put on a machine to help her breathe.
Sadly, her injuries were too serious and the doctors said her brain had stopped working.
She passed away on Sunday at the hospital.
The two car riders have been charged by the police.
Priyanka's father is very sad and angry.
He says the car hit her three times and that it was done on purpose.
He is asking the police to punish the accused very strictly, saying even the death penalty would not be enough for destroying his daughter's life.

Police registered a case of attempt to commit culpable homicide against Suravarapu Daswanth and Andrew Joseph Edwards.
Her father, Kanike Venkatesh, lodged a complaint seeking stronger charges, alleging the car hit her scooter three times and that she was deliberately targeted.
Doctors declared Priyanka brain-dead; after postmortem, her body will be shifted to Eklaspur village in Gadwal district for last rites.
