Medico Priyanka Dies in Hospital After Rajahmundry Hit-and-Run
A young doctor who was training to become a skin specialist got hurt in a very bad accident.
She was riding a scooter with a friend after watching a movie at a mall.
Some men in a car had been drinking alcohol, which is against the rules when driving.
Their car hit her scooter and she fell down, hurting her head very badly.
First, she was taken to a hospital in the city where she studied.
Then she was moved to a bigger hospital in a city called Secunderabad.
The doctors tried very hard to help her get better.
But her brain was hurt too badly, and the doctors said she was brain dead.
Sadly, she passed away on Sunday afternoon.
The men who were driving the car are blamed for causing the accident.
Priyanka, a first-year postgraduate dermatology student at GSL Medical College in Rajahmundry, died on Sunday at KIMS hospital in Secunderabad.
On August 3, Suravarapu Dushyanth of Namavaram and Andrew William Joseph of Lalacheruvu allegedly hit her two-wheeler with their car while intoxicated.
The accused reportedly struck the bike a second time, causing Priyanka to fall and suffer a serious brain injury.
She was first treated at a private hospital in Rajahmundry, then shifted to KIMS in Secunderabad, where she was placed on a ventilator.
Doctors declared her brain dead before confirming her death; one report gives the time as 3:25 pm, while another says 3:22 pm.
