All India Tiger Estimation Begins January 20
A big event called the All India Tiger Estimation is happening from January 20 to 26, 2026.
Almost 2,000 volunteers will help forest officials count tigers and other animals in Telangana.
They will walk in the forest for six days, looking for signs of tigers and other animals.
The volunteers will stay in basic places and get simple food.
They will sign a paper saying they know the work is risky.
The forest has 3,053 areas to check, but some districts don't need volunteers.
One district, Mulugu, will do the count in February because of a big festival.
This is the biggest volunteer event for counting tigers in Telangana.

Volunteers will join forest staff for trail and transect walks to count tigers and other wildlife in 3,053 forest beats across Telangana.
Hyderabad, Suryapet, Warangal, Jangaon, Jogulamba Gadwal, and Karimnagar districts do not need volunteers due to adequate forest staff.
Mulugu district will conduct the estimation in February due to the Medaram maha jatara festival.
Volunteers will sign a declaration acknowledging the risks involved in the forest walks.
