Heavy rain in Odisha till Aug 16 · thehansindia.com

Odisha is a state in India that is getting a lot of rain right now.

The rain will keep falling in many parts of the state until August 16.

The India Meteorological Department, the group of scientists who study weather, said a low-pressure area is forming over the Bay of Bengal.

Because of this, they have put out a yellow warning, which means everyone should be careful.

Some places may see thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds.

The heavy rain is making rivers rise, and water has flooded some villages, farms and roads.

Fishermen are being told not to go into the sea until August 14 because the waves are rough.

The Hirakud dam has opened twelve gates to let out extra water safely.

People living near rivers are asked to move to safer places if they need to.
