The government wants to connect a water canal to all 418 tanks in Kuppam constituency.

This project is expected to cost ₹439 crore.

The tanks are spread across four mandals: Kuppam, Santhipuram, Gudupalle and Ramakuppam.

The plan was prepared after officials surveyed the area.

The canal began receiving Krishna water last year.

That water eventually reached Paramasamudram tank, the canal’s tail end.

The original canal was meant to serve 110 tanks, but it supplied 133 tanks last year.

The government also wants to use some of the water for industries near Pogurupalle.
