Jammu and Kashmir Revises Compensation for Soldiers Killed in Action

The government of Jammu and Kashmir made a new rule to help families of brave soldiers, police officers, and civilians affected by terrorism.

If a defence or paramilitary soldier from Jammu and Kashmir dies while fighting terrorists, their family gets Rs 25 lakh to help them.

Families of police officers who die at work get Rs 12 lakh.

Civilians who lose their lives in terror attacks or shelling near the border get Rs 1 lakh.

The government also gives money to people who become disabled or badly injured while serving.

People whose homes or property get damaged during anti-terror operations can also get help, up to Rs 10 lakh per case.

Government workers who get hurt while doing their official jobs are supported too.

If someone feels the help they got is not fair, they can complain within 30 days.

This new rule helps families take care of themselves after losing someone dear to them.
