DDA scheme sells half of Narela flats on opening day

The Delhi Development Authority is a government body that builds homes in Delhi, a big city in India.

It made a new group of small apartments, called flats, in a place called Narela.

On the first day of sale, it started selling 1,218 of these flats.

The flats are given out in a first-come, first-served way, so the people who signed up first got them.

Many people wanted the flats, so more than half were booked on the very first day.

The smallest flats, called 1-BHK, were all sold out very quickly.

The flats are sold with a 25 percent discount, and prices start at about 33 lakh rupees for the smallest ones.

Grown-ups who work for the government or for companies can buy these homes.

The people in charge said this shows that many families want good, affordable homes they can move into right away.
