Kolkata Metro Announces Overnight Services for Peak Durga Puja Days
Kolkata Metro is changing its train schedules for Durga Puja.
Many people visit decorated festival sites, called pandals, during the celebrations.
To help them travel, trains on the Blue and Green Lines will run late into the night on the busiest days.
Those trains will run from 1 p.m.
until 4 a.m.
the next morning.
The Blue Line will have a train every six minutes during peak hours.
Other lines will have different schedules on different festival days.
The Orange Line will not run from October 17 to 21.
The schedules vary by line and by day.
Kolkata Metro will run Blue and Green Line services from 1 p.m. to 4 a.m. during Saptami, Ashtami and Navami.
The overnight schedule covers October 17–20, with peak-hour Blue Line trains running every six minutes.
On Panchami and Shashthi, Blue and Green Line services are scheduled from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
On Dashami, Blue and Green Line services will run in the afternoon and evening, ending at 10:30 p.m.
The Orange Line will have no services from October 17 to 21; Yellow and Purple Line hours will also change during the festivities.
