New Dhwaja Sthambam Consecrated at Siddavatam Shiva Temple
A temple in Siddavatam received a new Dhwaja Sthambam, or ceremonial temple flagstaff.
The special ceremony took place on Monday.
It finished a three-day religious festival that began on August 29.
Priests chanted Vedic prayers and followed traditional Agama rules.
The flagstaff is considered an important part of a Hindu temple.
After it was installed, more religious ceremonies were held for the deities.
Officials from Srisailam Devasthanam attended the event.
They said the Siddavatam and Jyothi temples would be improved to welcome more devotees.
A new Dhwaja Sthambam was consecrated at Sri Kamakshi Sametha Siddhanteshwara Swamy temple in Siddavatam on Monday.
The ceremony concluded a three-day Dhwaja Sthambam Mahotsavam that began on August 29.
Vedic chanting, special prayers and rituals were conducted according to Agama traditions.
Post-consecration ceremonies included Bali Haranam, Purnahuti, Avabhritham and Mahadashirvachanam.
Srisailam Devasthanam officials said Siddavatam and Jyothi temples would be developed in phases with improved amenities.
